Sometimes, the little things make all the difference in the world when you move. For example, let’s say that you have quality makeup and other toiletries – and, if one spills, it’s a hassle and you’re out some cash – plus the spills can damage other belongings. Here are a few ways to protect your investment!
Tip #1: Saran wrap comes in handy!
Real Simple suggests that you cover the openings of liquid toiletries with saran wrap and then screw the lids back on. Makes sense!
Tip #2: Sandwich bags are also your friend.
To be doubly sure that your toiletries don’t leak, put them in individual sandwich bags. If you’ve got some products that are especially expensive – say boutique perfumes – you could wrap them individually in bubble wrap.
Tip #3: Powder needs attention, too.
Place cotton balls into your powder-based cosmetics in compacts for added protection.
Tip #4: Line your box or crate with a towel.
After you’ve taken the precautions listed in #1-3, it’s unlikely your cosmetics and toiletries will spill. But, if one does, the towel will protect it from soaking through the box. Pack up your toiletries, then seal up the box. Then, you can simply wash the towel once you’re settled in your new home.
